Nicolás is a theoretical physicist interested in nonlinear science, biophysics, statistical
mechanics, statistical hydrodynamics, thermodynamics of self-organization, colloidal
suspensions, lubrication theory, fluid dynamics, theory of elasticity, fluid-structure interaction
and numerical methods. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Université de Nice, France. He has
been a postdoctoral fellow at the Service de Physique de l'Etat Condensé (SPEC) CEA-Saclay,
at the Group of Research and Applications in Statistical Physics (GRASP), Institute of Physics,
Université de Liège and at the Manchester Centre for Nonlinear Dynamics (MCND) and School
